The museum encourages visitors to utilize our research facilities and embark on a personal historical experience to gain the information they seek. Our staff is always delighted to share information and assist others on their quest for knowledge of the past. We love drop-in visitors, but you run the risk that our staff may be booked for a tour, speaking engagement, attending workshops, etc. Therefore, we recommend you make arrangements prior to your visit if you intend to do serious genealogical or historical digging to make the most of your time and our resources. If it is impossible for you to visit Buxton and you are seeking specific settlement or genealogical data our staff can help you with the leg work. However, due to our limited operational funding, we can only provide an hour of their expertise without charge, each hour thereafter we must charge $25 plus additional expenses (such as photocopies, shipping, etc.).
