The Moore Family

The Moore family settled in the Buxton Settlement in the year 1866. Upon their arrival, the family consisted of William Moore and his wife Sarah Ann Emmanuel. Sarah was the daughter of Sarah Peterson and her husband Samuel Emmanuel. The same year that the couple moved to Buxton, William and Sarah Ann welcomed their first child Benjamin into their family.

The Moore family settled on the ninth concession and continued to raise their expanding family in the Buxton Settlement. Descendents of the Moore family still reside in the Buxton Settlement.  It is likely that the Moore family at one time lived in Gray County in the same community as the Emmanuel Family. The two families arrived in Buxton in the same year.
